Ondo State Government Suspends Sunshine Stars’ GM Amidst Restructuring

In a significant move aimed at addressing internal challenges, the Ondo State Government has suspended Tunde Ogunja, the general manager of the Sunshine Stars football club. The announcement was made by Hon. Sara Yusuf Ogunleye, the State Commissioner for Youth Development and Sports, highlighting the government’s commitment to restructure and improve the club’s management.

Yusuf Ogunleye expressed that this decision is part of a broader effort to eliminate corrupt practices within the club. We won’t allow cartels and cabals to survive, and I am determined to move the ministry forward, she stated, calling for transparency and accountability. She also appealed for the cooperation of all to enhance the club’s performance.

This managerial shake up comes at a time when Sunshine Stars are facing performance hurdles, having not won in their last five matches, and currently sitting 16th on the NPFL table with 36 points.
